SmartBill is the best-known invoicing software in Romania and covers far more ground than invoicing: stock management, point of sale, e-Transport, a production module, e-commerce integrations and a mobile app. If you need software that also handles stock, SmartBill solves that and BIWizz does not.
BIWizz solves something else: it brings invoices, banking, documents, ANAF SPV and SAGA records into one place and puts an AI assistant on top that you talk to in Romanian about your own data. It is not stock software and does not try to be. The right choice depends almost entirely on one question — do you need stock management, or answers from your data?
Choose BIWizz if
- You want to ask about your business in Romanian — "what is more than 30 days overdue", "where do I stand on VAT" — and get answers from real data with sources shown.
- You work with an accountant who keeps the books in SAGA: BIWizz reads the Firebird database (.fdb) directly, with nobody moving off their software.
- You want the owner and the accountant working in one space on the same data — the owner sees clean numbers without calling the accountant, the accountant stops re-keying what landed on WhatsApp or email, and every action passes through an approval queue with an audit log.
- You want to upload several invoices or receipts at once — photos or PDFs — and let AI classify them and extract the data instead of entering each one by hand.
- You want to query your data straight from Claude or ChatGPT via the MCP connector.
Choose SmartBill if
- You want full accounting in the same product: the Conta module keeps double-entry books, produces the balance sheet and files the returns. BIWizz does not do that.
- You need stock management, inventory or production — BIWizz has none of these modules and SmartBill does.
- You sell online and want ready-made e-commerce integrations, or you need a point of sale and e-Transport.
- You want a native mobile app: SmartBill has one, BIWizz runs in the browser.
- You prefer a supplier with years on the market: SmartBill has existed since 2007 and has had Visma as majority shareholder since 2019. BIWizz is an early-access product.

The deciding question: do you need stock management?
If the answer is yes, the comparison ends here and SmartBill is the right choice. BIWizz has no stock module, keeps no inventory and does no production. This is not a temporary gap we will close next month — it is a product decision: we focused on the finance and accounting flow and on AI, not on the warehouse.
If the answer is no — if you sell services, or sell goods but track stock elsewhere — the comparison gets interesting, because you would be paying SmartBill for a part you do not use.
What "AI" means here, concretely
The main difference in BIWizz's favour is not an extra feature but how you reach information. In classic software, to find something out you locate the right report and filter it. In BIWizz you ask: "who are my five largest overdue customers and how late are they", "prepare last month's summary in Excel".
Wizzy works on real company data — invoices, bank statements, documents, SPV messages — and shows where each figure came from. When you ask for an action that changes something, such as issuing an invoice, it prepares a draft and brings it to you for approval. Nothing runs without your confirmation, and everything stays in the audit log.
Worth stating what it does not do: it does not replace your accountant and takes no tax responsibility. It gets you grounded answers faster, with the sources visible.
Does your accountant work in SAGA? It matters
Most Romanian accountants keep their records in SAGA, and moving an entire portfolio to different software does not happen in practice. BIWizz reads the .fdb file SAGA stores its data in directly, without changing anything there.
The practical consequence: you do not have to talk anyone into switching. The accountant carries on in SAGA, and you see the same data in BIWizz in the form that matters to you, and can ask questions about it.
On pricing, without tricks
SmartBill prices are shown in euro excluding VAT, and packages combine (invoicing, stock, accounting, e-Transport, production, extra users), so the real cost depends on what you pick. Metered usage adds to it: OCR at €0.06 per document, bank transactions at €0.03 each, and documents beyond the API quota at €0.017.
BIWizz has a permanent free plan, Liber (ANAF SPV, invoicing and Wizzy, with limits), and paid plans start at RON 80/month. Compare the package you actually need rather than the entry price — if you need stock management, the correct comparison is against SmartBill's Gestiune packages, and there BIWizz does not compete at all.
