This is not a comparison where you have to choose. SAGA is the desktop accounting program most Romanian accountants use, and BIWizz reads its Firebird database (.fdb) directly. In practice you keep your records exactly where they are and add a layer of cloud, e-Factura and AI on top.
We built the SAGA import precisely because moving dozens of companies and years of history onto new software is, in most practices, unrealistic. We are not asking you to give up SAGA — we are asking for the .fdb file.
Choose BIWizz if
- You want to ask about the SAGA data in Romanian without building reports: "which companies owe VAT this month", "who is past due".
- You need browser access and a shared space with your client — they see clean numbers without calling you, you stop re-keying what they send over WhatsApp — while SAGA stays installed on the office machine.
- You have a portfolio of companies in SAGA and want one report that runs across several of them at once, not one by one.
- You want automatic ANAF SPV and e-Factura sync, plus an audit log over the actions the assistant prepares.
- You want to query the data straight from Claude or ChatGPT via the MCP connector.
Choose SAGA if
- You need full double-entry accounting, with a trial balance, journal entries and month-end closes — SAGA does that and BIWizz does not replace it.
- You need stock management, production or payroll: SAGA has dedicated modules, BIWizz has no stock module.
- You work well offline and do not want a dependency on the internet — SAGA is desktop, BIWizz runs in the browser.
- Cost matters a great deal: the SAGA program itself is free; you only pay for updates and support.

How the SAGA import works
SAGA keeps its data in a Firebird database, in files with the .fdb extension. BIWizz reads that file directly: you upload the company database, and the data — issued and received invoices, partners, accounts — becomes available in BIWizz and, with it, to Wizzy.
Nothing changes in SAGA. The accountant carries on working exactly as before, and BIWizz sees the result of that work. It is a one-way relationship, precisely so that neither program can corrupt the other's records.
What you gain by putting them together
The most visible gain is that you stop building reports to answer simple questions. The data in SAGA is correct, but getting "the five largest receivable balances across my companies" out of it takes several steps. In BIWizz, you ask.
The second gain is the client. A business owner has no SAGA account and generally would have nothing to do there. In BIWizz they get a place to see what is owed to them, what they owe, and which documents have been requested — without phoning the accountant.
- The accountant keeps SAGA as the record of reference and migrates nothing.
- The owner gets browser access to the same data, in the form that matters to them.
- Wizzy answers on the imported data and prepares actions that come back for approval, with an audit log.
- e-Factura runs in BIWizz, on data synced from ANAF SPV.
What BIWizz does not give you
To be clear: BIWizz is not a replacement for SAGA and we do not present it as one. It does not keep double-entry books, does not produce the trial balance, and has no stock, production or payroll modules. Drop SAGA without something else in its place and you are left without the accounting records themselves.
And on cost, SAGA is hard to beat: the program itself is free, and payment covers updates and support. BIWizz is a monthly subscription on top of that cost, not instead of it.
